Interference
Generator Software
This interference generator is used to generate
arbitrary interference patterns. It can be used to "jam" a particular
wireless channel in order to observe packet loss on that channel or on nearby
channels. It is useful when trying to perform experimental work that models the
behavior of other users in the network. This interference generator can create
different patterns to simulate different types of environments with varying
levels of interference.
The difference between the
“finterference” and “interference” programs is that the
“finterference” program uses a file to generate any kind of pattern
while the “interference” program generates a pattern which has a
constant burst length (number of packets that are sent back-to-back) and a
constant idle time between bursts.
